I've recently gotten over my fear of PvP and jumped head-first into playing battlegrounds.  The first thing I can tell the world is this:  every battleground is different, and you're going to be very confused when you play each one for the first time.  This short guide contains only the things I wish someone had told me before I played Warsong Gulch.

Playing in PvP battlegrounds leads to serious rewards.  You get XP very quickly if you play right - it's very easy to go up two levels per day.  But as good as the XP is, the gear is even better.  As you play battlegrounds and gain levels, you'll get access to armor and weapons that are far more powerful than the drops gained in dungeons and on the field.  This article will help new players, especially Horde players, get started on their first PvP gear upgrades.

The people in charge of the official economy of China have finally taken notice of the unofficial economy that gamers have been talking about for years.  Late last month, China passed new regulations that forbid real world shopkeepers, waiters, and customers from treating monies used in online RPGs such as gil, kamas, and L$, as if they were yuan. 

The move is a shocking confirmation of the degree to which Chinese businesses take advantage of virtual exchange systems.  The law doesn't ban buying virtual currency, it bans converting that virtual money back into Chinese legal tender.  According to a CNN story, the Chinese government fears that black market economies accepting virtual tender could damage the sanctioned economy.
